Our Approach to Healthcare
Healthcare is multifaceted, and no single treatment is appropriate for every patient or every condition. At Ashmore Osteopathic Group, we take an evidence-informed, patient-centred approach that combines osteopathic principles with current scientific evidence and, where appropriate, selected integrative healthcare strategies.
Our goal is to understand not only your diagnosis, but also the many factors that may influence your health, recovery and long-term wellbeing. These may include your medical history, physical function, lifestyle, occupation, activity levels, sleep, nutrition and personal health goals.
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is an AHPRA-regulated allied health profession that focuses on the assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions. Osteopaths use hands-on techniques together with exercise advice, rehabilitation, patient education and lifestyle recommendations to help improve movement, reduce pain and support physical function.
Treatment recommendations are individualised and based on a comprehensive clinical assessment, current scientific evidence and the patient’s goals and preferences. Where clinically appropriate, osteopathic care may be used alongside other healthcare interventions as part of a coordinated management plan.
Integrative Healthcare
Integrative healthcare combines evidence-informed conventional medical care with selected complementary approaches where supported by current scientific evidence and appropriate for the individual patient.
This approach recognises that health is influenced by a complex interaction of biological, psychological, social, environmental and lifestyle factors. Rather than focusing solely on the management of symptoms, integrative healthcare aims to identify contributing factors that may influence recovery, function and overall health while maintaining patient safety and evidence-based practice.
At Ashmore Osteopathic Group, integrative strategies are considered only where clinically appropriate and are incorporated into an individualised management plan developed in partnership with each patient.
Our Philosophy
We believe that effective musculoskeletal care is rarely achieved through a single intervention. Depending on the diagnosis and individual circumstances, management may include a combination of:
- Comprehensive clinical assessment
- Patient education
- Manual therapy
- Exercise-based rehabilitation
- Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound
- Orthobiologic procedures, where clinically appropriate
- Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT)
- Lifestyle and self-management strategies
- Collaboration with your general practitioner, medical specialist or other healthcare providers when appropriate
Every treatment recommendation is based on a comprehensive assessment, informed by current scientific evidence and tailored to the individual’s diagnosis, clinical presentation and treatment goals.
As with all healthcare interventions, treatment recommendations are individualised, responses vary between patients, and no treatment can guarantee a particular clinical outcome.
